Sam & Lauren | The Ravenswood, East Sussex

Due to Sam and Lauren living in New York, I only met them 3 days before their wedding for their engagement shoot. Have a look at their London engagement shoot photos here. Their wedding was down in East Sussex at The Ravenswood. It was a really special place for them to get married, as Lauren’s grandmother had lived there as a child! They had friends and family coming from all over the world so it was great that there were so many rooms at the hotel for them to stay. Lauren and her girls got ready in the recently renovated bridal dressing room, it was spacious and so light! 

They had been planning to have an outdoor ceremony in the garden but just an hour before it was due to start, it began to rain! All the staff worked hard to keep the chairs dry, and thankfully the rain held off long enough (in fact it was REALLY bright and sunny during the ceremony!)

They then had drinks and canapés in the beautiful garden whilst I did their family photos. There were so many interesting parts of the garden which we used for Sam and Lauren’s bridal portraits. 

Following their dinner, there was a surprise appearance from The Singing Waiters! They were AMAZING! Using songs from different eras really involved all of the guests, and by the end of their performance many guests were standing on their chairs singing along! They then had an epic party, involving a confetti cannon and a brilliant DJ. A big thanks to Julie for second shooting for me!
