Wedding info

How would you describe your photographic style?

I love natural light and avoid using my flash wherever possible. I usually only use it for the speeches and dancing (except on dark winter days, where I might have to use it more!) Apart from a few group photos of your family (if you'd like some), most of my photos on the day will be documentary style: photographing the day as it happens.

Can we meet you before booking?

Of course! I'm happy to travel to a café/pub up to 30 minutes from GU7 (as long as it's a good one!), but if you live further away we can have a Skype chat or phonecall.

How do I book you?

Please head to my Contact page and fill in my form, giving me as much info as possible - I'll need to check whether I'm free on your wedding date, then I'll email you back ASAP. We can have a chat if you'd like to, and if you want to book me then I'll invoice you for a £400 booking fee (which will be taken off the total amount) and send over my contract for you both to sign.

When do we pay you?

When booking me, you'll pay a £400 booking fee, and the final amount is due 6 weeks before your wedding.

Why would I want a second photographer?

You will have more angles of the day photographed, which results in more photos. I will choose a photographer that I trust to work well alongside me all day. As the main photographer I spend 2 hours before the ceremony with the bride and bridesmaids, whereas the second shooter will photograph the groom and ushers, and the guests arriving at your ceremony venue. I will be at the front of the ceremony, photographing the two of you, and the second shooter will photograph from the back of the room (hopefully they'll be able to catch a photo of the groom's reaction when he sees his beautiful bride!) For the rest of the day, the two of us will photograph your wedding reception from all angles. They'll be able to catch more photos of the guests whilst I'm photographing the couple, and doing group photos. If you don't want a second photographer, then don't worry - I usually photograph most weddings on my own!

What's the point of an engagement shoot?

They are SO much fun: it's a good opportunity for you to tell me all about your wedding day plans, we can get to know each other better, but more importantly you can practise relaxing in front of the camera together before the big day! This will result in some great photos of the pair of you in a forest, on a hillside, a beach...or wherever you fancy!

Can we do an engagement shoot wherever we like?

Yes - within reason! I'm happy to travel up to 30 minutes from GU7. I've grown up in the beautiful Surrey countryside so I have a long list of places I can recommend for a beautiful photoshoot. If you'd like to go somewhere further than this, I will charge 45p/mile for the extra petrol.

Where's the furthest you'll travel for a wedding?

I travel all over the UK - in 2018 I photographed weddings all the way up in Lancashire and Belfast! If your wedding is more than 2 hours away from GU7 I charge a little extra for accommodation.

How long do you photograph for at a wedding?

It depends on your budget, my wedding packages range from 6-10 hours.

Do we need to feed you?

Yes please! It's a long, busy day for you - and for me too! I would really appreciate a break to have a meal in another room whilst you're having your wedding breakfast. If you can't provide this, please let me know before the day and I will bring something along.

What happens if you're ill on our wedding day?

I am in several networks with many lovely photographers, I would be sure to get someone I trust to cover for me as soon as possible. But don't worry, I am rarely ill!

Are you insured?

Yes - I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

When will we receive our wedding photos?

You'll receive them within 6 weeks of your wedding; it may be quicker in the quieter winter months.

Why does it take so long for the photos to be edited?

I have to download the photos, cull them, crop them, check the exposure, white balance, improve the colours and many other magical things before exporting them... When you multiply this by 500 (or more) photos you can see why it might take a while - especially during the busy summer season!

How long will I be able to access my online gallery for?

Your photos will be in the gallery for a minimum of one year after your wedding date. Please make sure that you look after your USB stick, and back up your photos onto a hard drive!

Can I print my own photos?

Of course! I would recommend using a high quality printer though, so that the photos look their very best! Or you can buy your prints through me, I use a fantastic professional lab - it's where I got my own wedding photos printed too!

How much are your albums?

Please ask me for my price list.

Do I need to decide immediately whether I want an album or not?

Nope! Some people decide as soon as they book me that they want an album, whereas some couples decide when they receive their USB that they would like one. You are welcome to order an album up to 6 months after you receive your photos.
